„DESABAFO NO PE“

????????In Leidenschaft für die Kultur Brasiliens bringen Desabafo no Pé, drei Frauen aus Brasilien, Kolumbien und Frankreich, in Facetten wie Xote, Xaxado, Baiao oder Arrasta-pé die traditionelle Tanzfestmusik Forró temperamentvoll auf die Bühne. „Desabafo no Pé“ steht dabei für die brasilianische Art, Dinge „im Fuß“ herauszulassen, die auf dem Herzen brennen.

Desabafo no Pé bringt mit sich eine Hinterfragung der traditionellen Geschlechter Rollen im Tanz und schafft einen inklusiven Raum für alle!

Desabafo no Pé entstand aus dem Wunsch, die Bühne, Lebenslektionen und Erfahrungen unter Frauen zu teilen, die alle von einer gemeinsamen Liebe zur brasilianischen Nordostmusik geprägt sind. Die musikalische und kulturelle Fusion wird von Zina Bloch, einer französischen Akkordeonistin mit klassischem Musikhintergrund, geschaffen. Zina lernte Forró kennen, als sie in Rio de Janeiro lebte, und seitdem ist es ihr wichtigstes musikalisches Betätigungsfeld. Die Leadsängerin ist Melissa Morcote, Trianguleira und Percussionistin. Die kolumbianische Sängerin verführt mit ihrem bemerkenswerten Timbre und schlägt vielfältige lateinamerikanische Einflüsse für das Projekt vor. Mamá Suen, brasilianische Sängerin, Zabumbeira und Komponistin, bringt Einflüsse von brasilianischer Popularmusik (MPB) bis hin zu untergründigeren musikalischen Perspektiven ein.

Desabafo no Pé feiert Vielfalt und verbindet Menschen durch die universale Kraft des Tanzens. Das Trio ging erstmals im Februar 2023 in Spanien auf Tournee. Seitdem haben sie auf verschiedenen Bühnen in Österreich, Deutschland, Portugal, den Niederlanden, Belgien, der Schweiz, Italien, Großbritannien und Frankreich aufgetreten. Mit fast einem Jahr Karriere wird die musikalische und ästhetische visuelle Identität von Desabafo no Pé immer solider und einzigartiger.Being formed by three talented women from different nationalities the Forró ́s trio is characterized by a vibrant and captivating musicality. With a feminist perspective the trio brings an inclusive backdrop to the Forró scene, that invites everybody to the dancefloor. And what is forró?

Forró refers to the popular and traditional dance music from the north-east of Brazil, a strong form of Brazilian cultural manifestation. With our project: “Desabafo no Pé” we would like to contribute to the development of the Forró movement in Europe. Whether you listen as an audience member sitting down or you join in the party on the dance floor, everyone will find a way of enjoyment. Our repertoire includes both slower1 and faster2 rhythms (1. “Xote” 2. “Baião”). This variety in speed and style ensures an exciting dynamic in our concerts! In addition, it is important to us to take up feminist themes, bring them to the stage and make our audience to understand the meaning of the lyrics in Portuguese. We select both, traditional and modern pieces that question the role of women in music and dance. Our band name “Desabafo no pé” was created in relation to these topics and their expression. The Portuguese word: “Desabafo” describes the action of getting rid of a burden through language and expression. “No Pé” means translated: “through the foot”. So together our name describes the act of relief, of getting rid of things. It is a liberation through dance.

Desabafo no Pé was born from the desire of sharing the stage, life lessons and experiences among women, all embedded by a common love of Brazilian northeastern music.

The musical and cultural fusion are made by Zina Bloch, French accordionist with a classical music background. Zina got to know forró while living in Rio de Janeiro, since then she has forró as her main musical field. The lead singer is Melissa Morcote, Trianguleira and percussionist. The Colombian singer incites and seduces with her remarkable timbre proposing diversified Latin-American influences to the project. Mamá Suen, Brazilian singer, zabumbeira and composer, brings influences that walk from Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) to more underground musical perspectives.

Desabafo no Pé celebrates diversity and connects people through the universal power of dancing. The trio went on tour for the first time in February 2023 in Spain. Since then, they have performed in different stages around Austria, Germany, Portugal, The

Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, United Kingdom and France.

With almost a year of career, Desabafo no Pé’s musical and aesthetic visual identity becomes more and more solid and unique.
